1 CUP kaima/jeeraka sala rice soaked for about 3-4 hours
1 CUP melted & filtered
jaggery syrup
¼ CUP Cooked rice
3 tbsp coconut
1 tsp cardamom
powder
½ tsp baking powder
Salt to taste
2 tbsp ghee or butter
Sesame seeds / fried small coconut slices /fried onion- for topping(I use sesame seeds only)
Wash and soak the rice for about 3-4 hours.drain the water and grind in a mixer along with melted jaggery,cooked
rice,coconut,and salt,to a fine /smooth and pouring consistency batter(like dosa batter),if need add little
water.next add cardamom and baking powder,grind it well.heat ghee in a pan now
pour the batter in to it ,cover it and cook for about 18 minute in a low flame.turn
it and cook another few minutes.ur kalathappam is ready.enjoyJ
